Amanda Seibert, Grad. Student

Your appointment is saved after completing your intake forms.

My name is Amanda Seibert, and I am currently a graduate student in the counselor education program at the University of Central Florida working towards finishing my master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Additionally, I am an alumnus of the University of Florida, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I plan to graduate in December of 2021 from UCF and will proceed to become a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern.

I have recently completed a 100+ hour placement at UCF’s Community and Counseling Research Center, where I provided services to a variety of individual clients, ranging from young adults to older adult clients. During my time at the clinic, I gained clinical experience working with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders (i.e., borderline personality disorder), individuals with trauma, and individuals with ADHD.

I also completed a three months-long mental health internship in Ireland in the summer of 2018. I helped renew and adjust a mental health curriculum for students aged 14-15 for the local school system in Westport, Ireland.

I work from a humanistic and evidence-based approach, which includes aspects of Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I enjoy working with a wide age range of clients from these approaches, but I also like to meet my clients where they are at and will tailor my interventions and techniques to an individual’s specific needs and goals.

I readily believe in the power and change factor of the therapeutic relationship and alliance, so I place an abundant amount of emphasis on a compassionate, mutual, understanding relationship between the client and myself. When working with a client, my ultimate goal is to improve overall functioning and quality of life through a consistent and team-like effort.
